While my skin is basically glowing and glimmering, as they say all that glitters…yada yada. This wasn’t a good day at all, I was bloated, I ended up needing to do a quick change at Soho Beach House (during the middle of an event) into borrowed pants but you know what…I looked pretty good through it all haha. My buns are pretty cute and my baby hair mostly cooperated for it being so dang humid.

I think this is a great elevated casual weekend look. The high-rise on the Maje striped shorts kinda take them up a notch from basic. While trying to find a link for these shorts I actually picked up in store at Bloomingdale’s, I discovered the matching top on sale. Problem there’s only one left. Ayyyy. Now I’ve gotta go decide whether I absolutely need it or not haha. No pressure or anything.

I originally wore this jumpsuit when I hosted the Art of Denim event during Art Basel. I wore the jumpsuit cuffed with statement shoes. Hosting with my favorite miami blogger friends, cupcakes, cake pops, talented artists and ending the night with a FKA Twigs concert really made this one of my favorite Basel events.

I knew I wanted to shoot this piece outside the store and specifically for the blog because Basel is such a crazy time to try to get anything done. It’s a really versatile piece, it has pockets, it can be worn cuffed/not cuffed, and you can also put a top under it if you like. I think I’d take this piece with me for cold weather layering. Which is your favorite of my two looks?

Wearing: Short-Sleeve Off-The-Shoulder Corset Dress ℅ GUESS

The holidays are approaching and I’ve been seeing lots of chatter on twitter about holiday dressing and more importantly party dresses. When I hit the mall recently I knew I wanted a hot little number to wear and the GUESS Holiday collection delivered in the form of this amazingly sexy dress. As soon as I put it on, I knew. I sent a picture text or two to confirm and all my replies were resounding yeses. I like that the dress is such a stand-out red and it’s body hugging without being uncomfortably clingy.

Check out some other hot items below to help you shine brighter.

Boom…changed up my hair again…or did I?! You guys know I like to keep it fresh and interesting with my hair but lately I’ve fallen into a same old, same old rut. Enter Garnier to help me get a little bold with zero risk. I went for a little bronze attitude. This color really reminds me of my hair color when I was younger before I started messing with. Very fiery just like me lol. It really shines in the sun.

Anyway, this stuff is super easy to apply and it washes out in 2-3 shampoos. You can literally change your look any time you want. Would you believe I applied this about 2 hours before I went out to shoot this look? As long as you have the time to apply it and let it dry (I used a blow dryer to kinda speed the process along) and then brush it to set the look. P.S. If you need to remove the color quickly for work or whatever, apply hair oils to help remove the color quickly.

Keeping the hair color fun going, you can also join me on my Garnier temporary hair color journey. Upload a selfie with the hashtag #funnestgirl and you can be Garnier’s official spokesmodel for 72 hours! You know you want the title! Check out more details at: http://www.garnierusa.com/funnestgirl

Directions & Tips to Use Product (to be followed in this exact order):

  1.     Make sure your hair is clean, dry and untangled
  2.     Put on gloves provided in the pack
  •       This is important since to get the best results you can’t apply the product directly to the hair, but should put a couple of drops on the gloves, rub to spread product out on gloves and then apply to hair
  1.     Section off the part of your hair you wish to color
  2.     Shake bottle vigorously to ensure color is mixed. Color is ready to go and does not require any adjustment before application.
  3.     Gently squeeze out a few drops (3 to 4) on the gloves.
  4.     Then take the gloves and rub fingers together.
  5.     Next apply a thin coat in a downward motion directly to the hair while smoothing the hair, starting at the base.
  •       Apply in small sections until you have even coverage, each time putting a couple of drops on to the gloves, rubbing the fingers together to spread out the color and then applying to hair.
  •       Don’t use too much product, otherwise your hair will start to feel rough.
  1.     To ensure all product on the glove is used grab hair with fingertips and twirl around hand.
  2.     After the color is vibrant, wait until the product is completely dry and then comb through using either a wide tooth brush or comb. You can use a hair dryer to speed up drying the color.

Wearing: Fresh Hydration Lotion ℅ St. Ives . Curved Hem Scuba Top ℅ Asos . Lacoste A-Line Wool Sweater Skirt

These days I’m really into fresh, dewy looking skin. There’s just something about being and LOOKING moisturized that’s just a win. People take notice that’s for sure. With makeup I achieve this look with a combination of oils and highlighters.

For the body I’ve been giving St. Ives Fresh Hydration Lotion a try. So the cool thing for me about this is it’s a spray lotion. This is new to me so I feel really cool using it haha. It’s very light and not greasy at all. Thank goodness, because leather seats and grease do not go together trust. It’s really easy to use, you just spray it onto your body in a continuous motion and it uses 100% natural moisturizers. Then you lightly rub it in and you don’t get that heavy lotion feel at all. Check it out, let me know how you like it.

These days I’ve been so busy with events and blog projects it’s easy to feel swallowed up and overwhelmed by it all. The way you feel mentally can really take a toll on your body. Along with using products that make me feel refreshed, I’ve started taking one day off a week. I try to make it Wednesday’s, as that’s kind of the halfway point in the week. I take this time to lounge in bed til late, if I do work I only work from my laptop IN bed. I’ll go get my hair or nails done or something. Basically I just really focus on me and I’m happier for it. What do you do to make your life brighter?

My first outfit post for the month of November and this look was shot in September hehe. Before leaving for New York Fashion Week, I stopped by my girlfriend Simonett’s showroom to pick up a Style Mafia piece. I chose this awesome Balmain/Rihanna-esque denim dress. Such a great design. Kudos to you babe!

I wore this to the Katie Gallagher presentation at The Highline Hotel. So perfect, I’d really like to find the time to make a separate post on the collection to share with you all. It was one of my favorites this season.

I had so much fun creating this post for Avenue 32. It reminded my of what I love about blogging. The thrill of finding a new online boutique and bookmarking everything you love. Creating little style collages like this one with your picks and other items you’ve been craving. I’ve been so caught up in being a full-time blogger and projects that I haven’t been having any fun…which hello that’s supposed to be the point of this blog for me.

I hope you guys like this collage and my picks as much as I liked creating it. There’s not too much color as I’ve still been very drawn to monochromatic dressing or greys lately. Grey is supposed to be “on trend” this season or whatever. I was rereading an old interview with one of my favorite artists FKA Twigs. She talks about how she doesn’t use color too much in her videos and if she does she likes the contrast to be quite high and that she likes the color red.

I like the color red; I think it’s a really lucky color. When I’m thinking about artwork I always like there to be a bit of red in it. I think it’s a winner’s color.

I think maybe that played a bit subconsciously into my decision to incorporate the red draped pocket trousers into this set. Plus the color combination/silhouette the look will create speaks to me. Carmen Sandiego vibes. Crisp white shirts are always a good thing and I like the metal detail at the collar of this one. Also loving that it’s sleeveless because it’s warm here during the day still. We only get sweater weather on some nights. Avenue 32 has a lot of awesome 3.1 Phillip Lim pieces and colorways I haven’t seen anywhere else. Kudos to their buyer.

Miami really is the place of endless summer. These photos were taken back in July during Swim Week, but let’s be real…I could have worn this out today. That’s right, today in October, while everyone else is thinking about layering up for warmth. The weather is actually really nice, no longer sweltering just high 70s. Glory to Miami! I can’t believe I’ve never worn these sneaker wedges on the blog. I reach for them if I know I’m going to be spending my day on my feet running around all over the place. Plus the boyfriend oddly likes them. Lately I’ve taken to flats, sneakers and comfortable shoes so I expect to be putting these back into the rotation again

It’s still in the high 88’s here most days. We’re going to drop down to high 60’s tonight but it won’t last long. It’s such a bummer because I’ve been collecting some great outerwear pieces. That’s what I’m into right now despite the hot weather. I picked up this wool blend cocoon coat in the prettiest little shade of lavender. I mean…I travel and every time I’m left scrambling to buy or borrow a coat last-minute. That ends this year.

I picked out this biker jacket because it reminds me of my babe *insert heart emoji here* . He loves that ribbed biker style. As soon as he saw these photos he commented on how nice the jacket is. All I could think was what about meeeeeee, do I look nice?! I’m a brat, what else is new. I can stop stealing his biker jacket now though…or not haha. I can’t wait to break it out tonight when the temperatures drop.

I’m totally smitten with these Raen sunglasses as well. You know I’m a sunglasses addict. These babies are polarized perfection. I love the vintage stained glass vibe they give. It was about 3 am last night when I decided to attempt a braid out on my hair. Sigh. It’s not perfect but I’ll get there. I need to find the ultimate companion product to help me get the job done.
